The Mexican Peso is the currency of Mexico. The peso was the first currency in the world to use the "$" sign, which the United States dollar later adopted for its own use. The peso is the 12th most traded currency in the world and by far the most traded currency in Latin America and third most traded in all the Americas. The peso is subdivided into 100 centavos, the smallest value for this currency is equal to 0.05 (five centavos)

The peso (ISO 4217 code: CUP), also called the "national peso" or in Spanish moneda nacional, is one of two official currencies in use in Cuba, the other being the Cuban Convertible Peso (CUC) , occasionally referred to as "dollar" in spoken language. The Cuban Peso is subdivided into 100 centavos and has smallest value equal to 0.01. This currency is not exchanged outside Cuba.
